All of our dogs have been microchipped, heart worm tested and fully vaccinated.
Each dog receives a thorough veterinary exam and wellness blood panel.
Willlis - ADOPTED

Willis is the kind of dog you never forget. Handsome, gentle, and incredibly sweet, this special senior boy has captured the hearts of everyone who’s met him.
Willis was abandoned at a Southern California high-kill shelter on Christmas Eve. A few weeks later, we pulled him out of fear that he would be euthanized simply because there was no room left for him. It’s impossible to understand how anyone could have let such a wonderful dog go.
You would never guess Willis is 10 years old. He still loves going for walks, enjoys car rides, and happily takes in the world around him. He’s wonderful with other dogs, both large and small, and even does well with cats. At the same time, he’s perfectly content simply relaxing near his person and enjoying a quiet, peaceful life.
We’ve taken Willis to several adoption events, and he has been absolutely flawless every single time. He adores people, including children, and everyone who meets him falls in love with his calm and loving nature. People constantly comment on how mellow, easygoing, and well behaved he is.
One of our volunteers recently took Willis home for a sleepover, and he was the perfect houseguest. He settled in beautifully with her dogs, relaxed peacefully outside with the pack, slept through the night, and once again proved what a truly special soul he is.
When Willis first came to us, he was heartbreakingly thin and had painful fly strikes on his ears. Since then, we’ve helped him regain weight, health, and confidence, and now he looks absolutely wonderful. He was recently groomed, and even the groomer commented on what a perfect gentleman he was the entire time.
Willis is currently being cared for here at Second Chance at Love Humane Society, but what he truly deserves is a home of his own. A soft place to land where he will be loved and cherished for the rest of his life. He is healthy, full of love, and ready to give his whole heart to someone lucky enough to call him family. Valentine

Valentine is the total package. We rescued this beautiful girl from a high-kill shelter, and from the moment she arrived, she’s done nothing but steal hearts. She has an incredibly loving, gentle temperament and truly enjoys being around people of all ages, including children.
Valentine is wonderful with other dogs and has an easygoing, balanced personality that makes her a joy to live with. She loves car rides, settles beautifully in the car, and is always happy to join you on an adventure. Whether it’s going for a long walk, exploring the world by your side, or simply relaxing at home, Valentine is content just being part of the family.
She’s also the perfect petite size—small enough to fit easily into your life, but with a huge heart full of love to give. Sweet, affectionate, calm, and incredibly well-rounded, Valentine is truly a rare gem and the kind of dog people spend years searching for.

Candace

Candace is a beautiful, petite girl with a playful and sweet disposition. She’s incredibly confident, and her social skills with other dogs are impeccable. In fact, Candace often helps dogs with social deficits come out of their shells and open up socially. She absolutely loves walking with the pack and brings a spicy little personality to every adventure. Wouldn’t you love to have Candace as your loyal companion?
Levi

Levi is undeniably a favorite at the shelter. We rescued Levi from the SEAACA shelter when he was on the red-list, alongside his kennel mate who has since been adopted. When we first took him in, Levi had a large infected area below one eye and was skinny and filthy. Our vet performed surgery to address the infection and discovered a foxtail embedded in his muzzle. Thankfully, he has made a full recovery and is now in good health and extremely handsome!
Levi has a stoic and affectionate nature, making him an easygoing companion. He loves going for walks and spending time with his favorite people, particularly our shelter manager, Emily. While he does great with medium to large dogs, he does exhibit prey drive toward small dogs.
Levi is an easy keeper. Many Huskies have such high energy that they need constant activities to be fulfilled. But Levi is content to go on a walk and then take it easy the rest of the day.
I can’t wait for the day when Levi finds his forever home. ❤️
